The finished piece, Rooted in Memory, in Sheila’s home
“While Marie’s medium is abstract, her pieces felt personal to me. After a year or so of admiring her work on social media, I finally inquired about a commissioned piece and what an absolutely incredible experience! Marie met me in my home to understand the space the painting would occupy and how it would interact with the room and throughout the house. We collaborated on size and discussed colors and concepts. The result was Marie perfectly capturing the feeling I hoped the painting would evoke and creating a timeless piece that will hang in my home forever!”

… And in place!
FAQs
How much does a commission cost? Do I need to pay anything up front?
The final price depends upon the size of the piece. I do not charge any upcharges for commissions above my usual prices; however, a 25% deposit is requested before I begin work.
How long will it take?
This really depends on how much work is required to create the wooden panels prior to starting (along with other potential factors like specific tools I may need to stock up on in advance, etc.), but I tend to allow 6-8 weeks from payment of the deposit.
Will it be framed?
Typically, my paintings are not framed; rather, created on a ready-to-hang cradled wooden panel with a depth ranging from 1.5” to 3”. However, if framing is a priority for you, we should discuss what options are available before I start the work.
Does the price include delivery?
Prices do not include shipping, but I am able to deliver locally free of charge. You are also welcome to come to the studio to collect your painting.
What if I don't like the painting at the end?
My utmost goal from the very beginning is to capture your unique vision and translate it into a creation that brings you genuine joy and happiness. My job isn’t complete if you aren’t delighted with the outcome. To help prevent this, I create (at least) two versions of the painting based on our brief. However, it is a potential issue, given the very personal nature of how we all respond to art. If the final piece isn’t something you absolutely love, you are not obligated to purchase it; the deposit can be used towards payment of other work or another commission.
